Northwest Indiana had been getting spectacular sunsets for several of the last days. After a break from such beauty the day before I thought it safe to schedule a client visit in South Bend for the afternoon. Heading back west on the I-80 toll road it was immediately clear that I was going to have to find a way to get off and shoot this thing…It is a curse being a photographer. There’s not much in the way of access off a toll road but I got off on the last exit which would afford a chance to photograph it and set up the gear as fast as possible. A caught the tail end of it with about 4 minutes to spare. Many people would be surprised, but the Midwest gets some unique and amazing sunsets. They are very different from what we get out west.
