Lightbox Art – A New Technology
As a response to several customer requests, we developed a product to illuminate wall space with high resolution imagery printed on fabric. It’s one of the latest technologies for large applications of art or photography. We saw it at a trade show last year and was really impressed by how large a lightbox can be built using fabric instead of acrylic or backlit film. The result has many advantages.
- Low weight and no worry about damaging a print on acrylic.
- Easily re-use the lightbox with different printed fabrics. Changes take only a few minutes with spares rolling up and storing in a small box to be used again at a later date.
- No internal support system for acrylic is needed. This means illuminated work can be the size of a wall.
This lightbox is 64″ x 32″, but it can be made much larger. Here is a link to this image on the Jim Tarpo Photography website: Huntington Beach Pier Sunset
Construction of the Lightbox
It was actually quite easy to put this lightbox together. It ships in a tall square container with the illuminating frame segments and connectors.
